Your First Month With Me: Here’s Exactly What Happens

You’re thinking about hiring a VA. You’re ready. But there’s this part that’s unclear. What does that actually look like? Do I show up and wait for you to tell me what to do? Do I ask a million questions? How long before things actually start moving?

Here’s what I want you to know upfront: the first month is slower than the months after. And that’s fine. We’re building the foundation.

Week One: Let’s Get Access

We have a discovery call where we talk through what’s actually breaking in your business. Then I need access to your email, your CRM, your project management tool, whatever systems you’re using. I ask questions about how you like things organized, what your email preferences are, how your workflows actually work.

This takes time. It takes patience. But it’s not wasted time.

Week Two and Three: I Start Learning

Here’s where it gets different.

I don’t wait for you to create a training manual or sit down and spell everything out for me. I learn as I go. I jump into your email and start seeing what’s there. I poke around your CRM and figure out how you organize things. I look at your processes and start understanding the rhythm of your business.

And then I just start.

I start managing the ticket flow. I start doing the follow-ups that need to happen. I spot the things that are slipping and I handle them. I don’t ask “should I do this?” I just do it. And if it’s not quite right, we adjust.

This is where people get surprised. They thought they were hiring someone to track things. Instead they got someone who tracks things AND actually handles a lot of the work too.

Week Four and Beyond: Momentum

By the end of the first month, your relief is real.

You’re not thinking about the admin stuff anymore. There’s someone there who isn’t waiting for you to figure out what needs to happen next. There’s someone who sees the chaos and just starts untangling it. You’re not drowning in follow-ups. Your clients are getting responses. Your projects have actual momentum.

And here’s the thing: the more you work with me, the more I learn about how you operate, the faster things move.

Real Example

I worked with a web development and support company that hired me specifically to project manage their client tickets. That was the job. Track them, organize them, report on them.

By the end of week one, I wasn’t just managing tickets. I was pulling tickets I could actually handle myself and just doing the work. I was learning their systems, seeing where things could be automated, spotting the patterns in what their clients were asking for.

They were shocked. They literally said “we didn’t know you could DO that stuff.” But I could. And they needed it done. So I just did it.

That’s how I work.

Here’s What You Need to Know

The first month is an investment in getting me up to speed. It’s meetings and access and me learning your systems and your preferences. It can feel a little slow if you’re expecting immediate magic.

But it’s setting you up for months two, three, four, and beyond where things just work. Where you’re not thinking about this anymore. Where your clients are getting taken care of because someone’s actually there making sure they are.

If you’re ready for that, let’s talk about what that first month looks like for your specific business. What’s actually on fire right now? What would change your life if it just got handled?
