ACE Client Call Method

VA tidbits newsletter time!🎉

The holidays are a fun and crazy time, so I’m of course a bit late getting this issue out. I do hope you’ll forgive me 😉

In this issue I’ll dive into:

  • Successful and impressive client calls with the ACE method
  • Some resources on client meetings and onboarding
  • A handy meeting scheduling tool

The ACE Method

Client calls can be INTIMIDATING, especially in the beginning of your career. You want to be professional, but also likeable. You want a plan for the call, but don’t want to sound scripted. You want the call to be the right amount of time without going over or under. You want to impress the person on the other end.

That’s a lot of pressure! And I have found and use a superb meeting method that has proven successful 100% of the time.

Enter the ACE Method!

The ACE Method is just a simple outline, but when you follow it, it hits each of the points above and makes you look like a bad ass meeting pro in the process. ACE stands for:

A-Appreciate.

Start the call by thanking and saying you appreciate them for taking time to have a call with you. Everyone likes to be appreciated and even more so loves to have it acknowledged that you value their time.

C-Confirm end time.

Confirm right at the start what time the call will end, depending on what you set up. Is it an hour? 30 minutes? Easily and simply state that right up front. It keeps you both on track with time, and again shows that you value their time and busy schedule.

E-End goals.

This is a key one. State what the goals are you have for the meeting. This is an outline of what the call will look like. It helps you to organize your thoughts and points, and also helps the caller know what to expect. You’re showing them the value you are offering with their time.

Boom, that’s it! Simple, easy, and extremely effective!

When you finish the call, wrap it all up again. Sum up the above points, only this time instead of saying “this is what we will do,” it’s a, “this is what we did.” You are showing them that you delivered on your earlier promises for the call.

Watch the video above to see an example of just how well these three steps all come together! It truly is that simple and so incredibly effective. Whether for a check-in call or the nerve-wracking client inquiry call, this method is gold.
